Things That Last
If you’ve ever known someone competitive – you will understand what I am about to say. Things that last usually take work. Long marriages don’t just happen; they take care and loyalty.
Challenges make us stronger. Other people challenge us by working harder, practicing more and being more committed to their goals. Some people can lose weight because they make up their mind that they will; then they work daily for the results they want. Other people fight losing weight all their lives.
Athletes perform at top abilities because they are willing to give consistently toward their purpose. If and when they are off their game, arm chair and stadium dwellers share their thoughts to everyone around them.
Stellar musicians provide amazing entertainment and thought-provoking appreciation. I play the piano and I have no doubt that I could have been a much better diversified musician if I had committed to more practice. We can always improve.
People who know their goals prove to us that it takes considerable work to get where they want to go.
Being inspired by success can drive us to become the best at what we do. We cannot all be professional violinists or play for a national team. We can be so much more than we are; successful at our personal mission for life. Our mission purpose may change but for a time, work toward your best possible outcome. You might become a care-giver or a speech giver. You possibly have abilities toward teaching others or mentoring children. You may know how to make beautiful things and show your love in ways you have never used. Be significant first, successful second.
Other people push their limits. If we would push our limits whether in a defined career, family matters or faith choices, we would enjoy daily insight toward a fulfilled life’s purpose. I push myself in faith and honor to those around me but also to my Creator.
I must trust God every day; I must tell him so. I must never doubt my heavenly Father. I must desire his purpose for creating me – uniquely me. You can do the same. Without mind, body and soul involved, many of our efforts are fruitless or temporary. Lasting peace and joy happen through continual commitment to our goals and abilities; to our insight and our actions.
I want you to be encouraged to follow the guidelines of others who stay the course, who follow their path and who want a completely satisfying life. Leave no stone unturned if you cannot find your way. Watch people who know where they are going. Your path will be different but the journey is often followed in the same ways. With truth, commitment, drive, passion and knowledge – you will get very far. Be bold. Be brave. Love completely. Give generously. Be who you are meant to be – every single day. Things that last are valuable and worth your time; they will make you happy. Bloom.
