Smile and Laugh – It’s Good For You
“We are born naked, wet and hungry, then things get worse.”
“I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges?”
Funny sayings and comments make us smile or laugh out loud – it’s good for you, your health, your day, your family and your attitude.
Fun places make you smile, funny people and greeting cards make you laugh.
Great places take us to a level of lightness and relief. Smile and laugh, it’s good for you. When you are concerned about aging or life’s continual difficulties, remember that it is extremely healthy to laugh.
You may read statistics about laughter relieving stress. Yes, believe it, it’s true! I have a friend who, in dire circumstances, often laughs. She says, ” It’s one or the other, If I don’t laugh I’ll cry over the situation.”
She relieves much stress and anxiety by finding something humorous in the circumstance or by distracting her mind for just a few moments through humor. That’s not all bad, is it? We can become sad, depressed and feel sorry for ourselves. A better choice is to find a higher path, a way to then find a trail of light through the surrounding issues; that’s far better.
When things are tough, when your health is not the best, when you cannot reach something on the top shelf, when your bad choices frustrate you, think of a positive in your life that supersedes all those downer thoughts. Simple little examples in life will throw us into a bad mode or a negative cycle. Get out of it asap! A little comedy might help.
A smile erases a troubled brow or a worried frown.
We don’t smile too much about aging, but this is where we realize how much wiser and stronger we have become. We cannot have everything; wisdom and youth, fewer birthdays and rich life. We have friends who have not lived as long as we. Live fully every day. Love your life. Make it better.
Choose your attitude towards age and abundance will be yours. Is your attitude worth catching? Smile about good news, happy events, a child’s touch, a loving word and then pass it forward.
Breathe deeply. Look around, there is someone struggling more than you to take another breath, just to plan their day, just to walk up the stairs, just to think clearly. We always have life choices with thought patterns that decide how we’ll look at every new day. I look up in thanks, I try to reach out to brighten someone’s day and attempt to change negatives into positives. There is a silver lining. Don’t ever forget it.
Sometimes big laughter brings big happy tears! What fun! Smile and laugh – it’s good for you and healthy too.
